Anusol Ointment is a treatment for haemorroids. It gives short term relief from the pain, itching, inflammation and swelling. They can also relieve the cushion of blood vessels and shrink the haemorrhoid.

Haemorrhoids often result when people strain while trying to open their bowel (defecate). This problem is often, but not always, associated with low-fibre diets.

Anusol Ointment is also useful in minor skin irriation, itching and chafing.

Ingredients

Zinc Oxide 300mg, Peru Balsam 50mg, Benzyl Benzoate 33mg.

Dosing guide

Wash and dry affected area. Apply ointment twice daily ensuring area is completely covered. Attach the plastic applicator tip onto the open tube. Insert tip into the rectum and gently squeeze the tube. After use wash nozzle in a hot solution of detergent and then thoroughly rinse in clear water. If difficulty is experienced in squeezing the ointment out of the tube, warm tube by holding it between the hand for a few minutes.

Caution
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have or have had any medical conditions, especially the following:
cuts or abrasions in the area of the anus eg. if there is blood on toilet paper or in the toilet after opening the bowels (defecating). Your doctor or pharmacist will need to consider this when recommending treatment with ANUSOL.

fungal infections such as thrush, in the area of the anus.ANUSOL does not treat these conditions. Your doctor or pharmacist may need to provide treatment for these conditions. severe or prolonged anal pain or if blood is present in the faeces, in which case you should have a doctor examine the area

When you must not use it

Do not use ANUSOLL if you are allergic to it or any of the ingredients listed.

Some symptoms of an allergic reaction include skin rash, itching, shortness of breath or swelling of the face, lips or tongue, which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing.

ANUSOL use may hide signs of infection.

Do not use it after the expiry date (EXP) printed on the pack.If you use it after the expiry date has passed, it may not work as well.

Do not use it if the packaging is torn/damaged or shows signs of tampering.
